I will handle all the paperwork and supplier contracts on your behalf. This includes scheduling your day, arranging appointments and deliveries, and making reservations.  I also take care of permits, retainers, and paying final invoices.

Upon your arrival in the mountains, I like to schedule a 2.5-hour consultation to go over all the details of your day.  We pick up your license, meet the marriage commissioner (if possible), check out the flowers and we look at the outdoor options available.  I will introduce you to some beautiful spots, help you to get your bearings, become acquainted with Banff and we will have a great time.

On the day of your wedding, I will arrive at least half an hour before the ceremony. I will meet you in your hotel room with your flowers, champagne and chocolates.  I have a dress steamer, and I am very happy to be your personal assistant and help you into your wedding dress, if required (I am really good at lacing up and small clasps).   When you are ready, we can travel to the ceremony location together (or alone if you prefer).

I will be present at your ceremony and for the duration of your photographs.  We will have fun! 

I allow for up to eight hours of planning:  two hours preplanning, 2.5 hours consultation and 3.5 hours on the wedding day.

Marriage license

I will assist you in completing your marriage license forms and make sure that all legal documents have been submitted before you arrive in Banff.

I will accompany you to the Banff Bureau where the bride and groom are required to sign under oath in order to legally obtain your marriage license.

Once you are married, we will make sure it is registered.  Marriages in Alberta are legally recognized throughout the world.

You will receive a temporary “certificate of marriage” on the day of your wedding, but the legal and official document will arrive by mail at your home two to four weeks later.  This is the document required to make changes to your name, driver’s license, passport etc.

Marriage commissioner

I work with all the commissioners in Banff (and Canmore) and they are wonderful!  I will book your marriage commissioner and they will perform the ceremony on your wedding day.  While we are required to follow the standard format for a legal wedding ceremony, if you choose, you may include some personal wedding vows as well.

Witnesses

You are required to have two witnesses over the age of 18 at the ceremony.  If you are eloping without guests, myself and your photographer would be delighted to be your witnesses.

Hair salon

This is a very personal choice, although I do include this service in my package, you may prefer to do your own hair – just let me know.

However, it is your special day and you want to feel and look gorgeous for your groom (and the photographs).  I will make an appointment with a local salon to provide you with a hair style to make you feel and look beautiful.

I have the advantage of being able to book one of the “two most experienced professional photographers in the Bow Valley”:  Malcolm Carmichael & Roger Witney – Peak Photography.

With spectacular images, we will cover your ceremony and give you a tour around Banff for additional portraits.  Often couples tell us this is the most enjoyable part of their day!  We have fun.

All images will be fully edited and you will receive a proof album and DVD.  You will own your images and be able to make as many reprints and enlargements as you like with your local printer.  We also offer on-line hosting – so you can share your password with family and friends and view your images anywhere in the world. 

Photography takes about two hours, 45 images guaranteed (usually more) and shipping costs are included.

Posy bouquet and boutonniere

Choose a beautiful hand-tied posy with roses and/or seasonal flowers in the colors of your choice.  Your bouquet may be fresh or silk, and we match the groom’s boutonniere to complement (or contrast) with the bouquet.

I will bring a chilled bottle of the finest French “Moet Chandon” and hand-crafted designer Belgian chocolates from a local company “le Chocolatier” to your hotel room so you can enjoy a toast in private later.  Or you may choose to “pop the bubbly” and make a toast right after the ceremony – just let me know and I will bring along champagne flutes.

Dining reservations

Romantic, casual, vegetarian, food allergies – whatever your preference, please let me know and I would be happy to help you choose the perfect restaurant for your “wedding breakfast.”

Private and separate from the main house, this genuine log cabin is cozy and romantic.  Only a four-minute walk to the Banff Springs Hotel, 10 minutes to the Bow Falls or Banff Avenue. Wireless Internet provided, suitable for a couple (one queen-sized bed).  Fresh home-baked muffins, fruit salad and tea or coffee for breakfast.  Minimum two-night reservation required.

Musician

Consider having a world-class harpist, violinist, cellist or classical guitarist to play music before your ceremony and during the signing of the register.  Live music adds a magical ambiance to your celebration and I highly recommend it.

Limousine

Travel in style and luxury from your hotel to the ceremony location, and then be chauffeured around the mountains while you are having your photographs taken.  Choose from a limousine, Bentley or a Rolls Royce.

Afternoon tea at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel

Relax in our local castle, surrounded by magnificent views and enjoy the world famous afternoon tea.  Available 1 – 4 p.m. daily.

Consider taking an elegant, white horse-drawn carriage ride along the river and through Banff.  After the ceremony and photographs are completed, the bride and groom may choose to take a moment for themselves before the “wedding breakfast.”

Enjoy a relaxing ride on a horse-drawn carriage or snuggle up under the blankets of a private sleigh cutter, while admiring our spectacular scenery.  Weather dependent.

St George’s in the Pines

This beautiful church is located on the corner of Beaver and Buffalo Street, only a block from Banff town centre.  The church welcomes visiting guests from all over the world and a plaque on the door reads: “a holy place of prayer and hospitality for all people and races.”

Marriage commissioner, George Belcher

Marriage commissioner, George, will conduct your marriage service inside the church or you may choose to have a religious ceremony at an outdoor location.  If you are divorced, or not of Anglican denomination, that is okay, just let us know.  Marriage commissioner, George, is a very kind and accommodating minister.

Musician

I will book a musician to play music in the church before the ceremony and during the signing of the register.  Choose from an organist, harpist, a violinist, classical guitarist or a cellist (subject to availability).  Live music adds a magical ambience to your celebration and sounds heavenly at St Georges in the Pines.

I will meet you in the Norquay Day Lodge, Sunshine Base Area or Lake Louise Day Lodge with your flowers, champagne and chocolates.  When you are ready, the bride and groom get on the chair lift or in the gondola together, and we make our way to the chosen ceremony location.

If you are not familiar with the ski hills, don’t worry.  I am a certified CSIA level 1 instructor and would be delighted to help you choose a scenic, private spot for your ceremony.

In Banff, I assist the Bride with riding the cutter sleigh, then we meet again at the ceremony location.  At Lake Louise, the bride travels on a two-man cutter and your guests and wedding suppliers travel together on the sleigh to the back of the lake where we hold the ceremony.

Strathcona Room

Located inside the Banff Springs Hotel this beautiful room has tall ceilings, oak panelled walls, leaded windows, dark green patterned carpet and stone fireplace.  This room is cozy and private for eloping couples and is large enough to accommodate up to 10 guests.  Chairs can be arranged for the guests and musician.

Angus Room

For a wedding with up to 20 guests, this beautiful room is the same as the Strathcona Room but slightly larger to accommodate more guests.

This is a very personal choice, although I do include this service in my package, you may prefer to do your own hair – just let me know.

However, it is your special day and you want to feel and look gorgeous for your groom (and the photographs).  I will make an appointment with a local salon to provide you with a hair style to make you feel and look beautiful.

Photographs

I have the advantage of being able to book one of the “two most experienced professional photographers in the Bow Valley":  Malcolm Carmichael & Roger Witney – Peak Photography. Both my photographers know the Banff Springs Hotel and grounds extensively as they were the official hotel photographers previously in their career.

With spectacular images, we will cover your ceremony and give you a tour around Banff for additional portraits. Often couples tell us this is the most enjoyable part of their day!  We have fun.

All images will be fully edited and you will receive a proof album and DVD.  You will own your images and be able to make as many reprints and enlargements as you like with your local printer.  We also offer on-line hosting – so you can share your password with family and friends and view your images anywhere in the world.

Photography takes about two to three hours, 65 images guaranteed (usually more) and shipping costs are included. For weddings with up to 20 guests allow three to four hours and 95 images.

Posy bouquet and boutonniere

Choose a beautiful hand-tied posy with roses and/or seasonal flowers in the colors of your choice.  Your bouquet may be fresh or silk, and we match the groom’s boutonniere to complement (or contrast) with the bouquet. For weddings with up to 20 guests we include an additional bouquet for a bridesmaid and additional boutonniere for a groomsman.

Champagne and chocolates

I will bring a chilled bottle of the finest French “Moet Chandon” and hand-crafted designer Belgian chocolates from a local company “le Chocolatier” to your hotel room so you can enjoy a toast in private later.  (If you would like to enjoy a toast after the ceremony, we are required to purchase this champagne from the hotel and this cost can be added onto your dining reservation.)

Wedding cake

Enjoy a single-tiered, handcrafted wedding cake in the flavour of your choice (chocolate, vanilla, raspberry ripple, lemon etc.).  It will be decorated with flowers to complement your bouquet.  Your cake can be delivered to your hotel room to be enjoyed with champagne later or delivered to the restaurant of your choice to be enjoyed after your meal. (Please note, most restaurants charge a serving fee per portion.) For weddings with up to 20 guests your cake will be larger.

Dining Reservations

The Banff Springs Hotel has a variety of excellent restaurants including: Canadian, Italian, Japanese Banffshire fine dining and the opportunity for private dining in the Strathcona Room or Banffshire Club.

For a private dining experience in the Strathcona Room, the hotel requires a minimum charge of $1200 + taxes + gratuities – this will go toward your food and beverage charge.

 

For a private dining experience in the Angus Room, the hotel requires a minimum charge of $2400 + taxes + gratuities – this will go toward your food and beverage charge.

 

Whatever your preference, please let me know and I would be happy to help you choose the perfect restaurant for your “Wedding Breakfast.”

Private and separate from the main house, this genuine log cabin is cozy and romantic.  Only a four-minute walk to the Banff Springs Hotel, 10 minutes to the Bow Falls or Banff Avenue. Wireless Internet provided, suitable for a couple (one queen-sized bed).  Fresh home-baked muffins, fruit salad and tea or coffee for breakfast.  Minimum two-night reservation required.

Limousine

Travel in style and luxury from your hotel to the ceremony location, and then be chauffeured around the mountains while you are having your photographs taken.  Choose from a limousine, Bentley or a Rolls Royce.

Afternoon tea at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel

Relax in our local castle, surrounded by magnificent views and enjoy the world famous afternoon tea.  Available 1 – 4 p.m. daily.

Carriage or sleigh ride

Consider taking an elegant, white horse-drawn carriage ride along the river and through Banff.  After the ceremony and photographs are completed, the bride and groom may choose to take a moment for themselves before the wedding breakfast.

Enjoy a relaxing ride on a horse-drawn carriage or snuggle up under the blankets of a private sleigh cutter, while admiring our spectacular scenery.  Weather dependent.

Video

Consider capturing your ceremony on video so you can relive the moment again later.  Take home a fully edited HD DVD to share with your family and friends.

 

Personal wedding planner

I will handle all the paperwork and supplier contracts on your behalf. This includes scheduling your day, arranging appointments and deliveries, and making reservations.  I also take care of permits, retainers, and paying final invoices.

Upon your arrival in the mountains, I like to schedule a 2.5-hour consultation to go over all the details of your day.  We pick up your license, meet the marriage commissioner (if possible) and check out the flowers.  I will introduce you to some beautiful spots, help you to get your bearings, become acquainted with Banff and we have a great time.

On the day of your wedding, I will arrive at least half an hour before the ceremony. I will meet you in your hotel room with your flowers, champagne and chocolates.  I have a dress steamer, and I am very happy to be your personal assistant and help you into your wedding dress, if required (I am really good at lacing up and small clasps). When you are ready, we can travel to the ceremony location together (or alone if you prefer).

I will be present at your ceremony and for the duration of your photographs.  We will have fun!

I allow for up to eight hours of planning: two hours preplanning, 2.5 hours consultation and 3.5 hours on the wedding day.

Marriage license

I will assist you in completing your marriage license forms and make sure that all legal documents have been submitted before you arrive in Banff.

I will accompany you to the Banff Bureau where the bride and groom are required to sign under oath in order to legally obtain your marriage license.

Once you are married, we will make sure it is registered.  Marriages in Alberta are legally recognized throughout the world.

You will receive a temporary “certificate of marriage” on the day of your wedding, but the legal and official document will arrive by mail at your home two to four weeks later.  This is the document required to make changes to your name, driver’s license, passport etc.

Marriage commissioner

I work with all the commissioners in Banff (and Canmore) and they are wonderful!  I will book your marriage commissioner and they will perform the ceremony on your wedding day.  While we are required to follow the standard format for a legal wedding ceremony, if you choose, you may include some personal wedding vows as well.

Witnesses

You are required to have two witnesses over the age of 18 at the ceremony.  If you are eloping without guests, myself and your photographer would be delighted to be your witnesses.

For heli-weddings, I work with Banff marriage commissioner, Rick Kunelius.  Rick is also a certified mountain guide, this allows us to take a single flight in a five-person helicopter, enough room for the bride and groom, photographer, commissioner and planner.  Rick will perform the ceremony on your wedding day.  While we are required to follow the standard format for a legal wedding ceremony, if you choose, you may include some personal wedding vows, too.

Alpine Helicopters

We fly exclusively with Alpine Helicopters as they have an impressive safety record.  Located right in Canmore there are no extensive travel times to get to the heliplex. Permits, insurance and guiding are included with all heli packages.

Heli-weddings are weather dependent, and safety is our upmost concern.  Certain conditions have to be met in order for us to have a safe, enjoyable heli-wedding.  More detailed information will be provided upon booking.

Additional sightseeing flying can be arranged with a heli-wedding.

Witnesses

For the Mount Charles Stewart location, allow up to 3 hours and prepare for some heli hiking. Bring your hats, boots, and jackets. Suitable for the more adventurous couple.

Marvel Pass - $4295 + gst

For the Marvel Pass location, we land for 45 minutes, enough time for the ceremony and spectacular photos. Suitable for brides with big wedding dresses.
