Our photos turned out Fantastic, what a great day it was! Thanks again for bringing it all together, the whole experience was epic…
Mr & Mrs Ted

With over 15 years of experience in the wedding industry, Sharon is still as passionate as ever about small wedding celebrations.

“I love the Canadian Rocky Mountains!  It's fun meeting couples from all over the world.  I enjoy introducing my clients to the wonders of Banff and the breathtaking views.  I love it all!”

“For me, it is very exciting to meet two people ready to make that lifetime commitment to each other.  Being part of that special celebration is a wonderful honour and a magical moment.  I love elopement weddings in Banff.”

Sharon graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Business & Finance from the University of Derby (in the UK), an HND in Business & Finance, and she also has a Marketing Diploma from the Chartered Institute in Marketing.

In 1997, she began planning small weddings for a UK based travel agency and this was the start of her career in the wedding industry. Over the past 2 decades, she has worked with hundreds of couples from all over the world who have chosen to come to the Canadian Rockies to celebrate their marriage vows.

Recently, Sharon was accepted by "Junebug Weddings" as one of the Best Wedding Planners in the world. This wonderful acknowledgement is prestigious recognition for the dedicated Elope in Banff team, who provide exceptional personal services to wedding couples who choose to get married in the mountains.

The Elope in Banff team also has more reviews on Wedding Wire (the Trip Advisor for the Wedding Industry) than any other wedding planner in Alberta. We hope you have a chance to take a look at these messages from past couples.

With years of experience, Sharon has created a number of packages to inspire and provide you with different ideas when choosing to be married in Banff or Lake Louise, Canada. These packages are a great starting point for your special day. However, these packages are flexible and nearly every wedding is customised to each individual couple.

Together, with her husband Malcolm Carmichael, they own: Alpine Peak Photography and the Banff Log Cabin B & B.

Born in Cheshire, in the United Kingdom, Sharon traveled extensively while completing her degree at the University of Derby.

Upon graduating, she moved to Canada, married her Canadian husband Malcolm and has have been in Banff for 24 years. They have 3 beautiful daughters and live in a historical log home in the heart of Banff.

Banff has 3 World Class Ski Hills in Banff & Lake Louise, and Sharon loves to ski. (She qualified as a CISA level 1ski instructor when she was 5 months pregnant with her first child). You will often find Sharon and her family skiing weekends in the Winter.

Sharon loves to swim and scuba dive.  She, and her family, are PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba Divers. Sharon has been fortunate enough to dive in: Belize, the Cooke Islands, Seychelles, Cozumel, Turks & Caicos, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and the Maldives. Yes, they love to travel!

Reading is also a passion of Sharon's and she has been a volunteer at the Word Fest event at the Banff Center for the last 15 years. This literary event takes place annually and promotes successful and upcoming authors from all over the world.

As an active member of the community, Sharon often volunteers with Banff Elementary School activities.  She is a member of the Mount Temple IODE and the women's NEW group.

An accomplished quilter, Sharon's art quilt "Sunflower Pot" was voted best of show at the Canmore Quilt Show 2007, then was later published in "Canadian Quilter". She has been a member of the Canmore Mountain Cabin Quilt Guild for 15 years.

Sharon & Malcolm were honoured to represent Banff in the UK TV show "Wish You Were Here", a travel program that aired in the UK.

Banff Wedding in a Church

PRINT PACKAGE

This package is perfect for couples choosing to be married in a church with a religious ceremony.

St George’s in the Pines Church has a wonderful history.  It is the oldest stone building in Banff,  it has the most amazing stained glass windows, church bells and was visited by the Queen Mother and King George in 1952.

(This is our local church, we were married here in 1995 and my three daughters were christened here.)

Alternatively, if you are looking to have a religious ceremony outside amongst the mountains, our marriage commissioner is willing to perform the wedding ceremony in an outdoor location of your choice.  This also gives you the advantage of an indoor location as a backup in case of inclement weather.

Rainbow Weddings

Just in case you are wondering, yes, we are gay friendly (and always have been).

When you find your true love and soulmate, it is a gift, and we believe that.

Gay weddings have been legally acknowledged in Alberta since 2005, and since then, couples from all over the world have been travelling to the Rocky Mountains to seal their commitment with a legal bond.

We don’t have any special packages for same sex weddings. All packages are suitable for any gay or lesbian couple ready to make that lifetime commitment.

Some adjustments will need to be made for salon bookings, bouquets of flowers etc.

We are now happy to offer a “hot shave” service for the gentleman.

We welcome and support gay marriages!
